Too Many Words…

Welcome to another #WriterWarnings! Today, we're going to talk about wordiness and how it causes you to avoid getting to the point.

When self-editing, try to delete the words that drag the pacing. Wordiness beats around the bush and can cause readers to lose interest.

To help with this, try removing "I start(ed)" or "I began/begin" from your sentences. Thus, rather than writing, "I started to shiver," go straight to "I shiver."

Not only will this help cut down your word count, but it will help maintain a steady pace within your book. Unless you want readers to take extra time reading and risk causing boredom, avoid wordiness!

Hope it was helpful to some! 🤎
